Piloting the Green Economy of
South Africa in Burgersfort, Limpopo.
Silvercrest Solid Waste disposal (Pty) Ltd is a circular economy infrastructure platform in Burgersfort, Limpopo. We combine a high-tech central processing facility (10,500 tons/month) with a network of 25 Community Nodes that contribute an extra 5000t/m to turn municipal and mining waste into value, cut illegal dumping, and move South Africa toward a zero-landfill, zero-poverty future by 2050.
Our Mission
Driving a Circular Economy Through Integrated Waste Solutions
Integrated Systems
We utilize a comprehensive, multi-stage approach to manage waste from collection to final disposal, ensuring maximum efficiency and minimal environmental footprint.
Sustainability Initiatives
Our commitment to the green economy is reflected in our innovative recycling programs and community education efforts that promote responsible consumption.
Waste-to-Energy
We are at the forefront of technological innovation, converting organic waste into renewable energy sources that power our operations and contribute to the local grid.
Environmental Stewardship
Our commitment to the green economy extends beyond waste collection. We actively participate in reforestation projects and environmental education programs, ensuring that our operations contribute positively to the long-term health of Limpopo's natural resources.
Empowering Local Economies
Silvercrest Solid Waste Management (Pty) Ltd is a circular economy infrastructure platform based in Burgersfort, Limpopo. Strategically located in the heart of the platinum and chrome mining belt, we address a regional waste crisis where only ~30% of waste is formally managed.
By integrating a high-tech central processing facility with a decentralized network of 25 Community Nodes, we serve a diverse client base including the Fetakgomo Tubatse Local Municipality, neighbouring municipalities, and the 36 active mines within the sector.
Engine 1: Core Processing Facility (Central Hub)
Capacity: 10,500 tons/month.
Revenue: R300/ton gate fee + recycling commodity sales.
Technology: 9-Stream Conveyor System (Plastic, Metal, Wood, Paper, Glass, Food, E-waste, and Mixed Waste for furnace feed).
Engine 2: Community Node Network (Decentralized Collection)
Structure: 25 nodes serving as local collection and disposal hubs.
Optimized Revenue Model: R550/ton municipal gate fee.
Purpose: To solve the logistics "last-mile" problem, reduce illegal dumping, and feed high-quality recyclables into the Core Facility.
Vision: To become the practical solution for absolute landfill eradication and poverty eradication in South Africa by 2050.
Technological Advancements
Advanced Waste-to-Energy
We utilize high-efficiency thermal conversion systems to transform organic waste into clean, renewable energy, significantly reducing landfill dependency.
Smart Sorting Robotics
Our automated sorting facilities employ AI-driven vision systems to separate recyclables with 99% precision, ensuring maximum resource recovery.
Biogas Digestion Systems
By processing food waste and agricultural residues, we generate methane for local heating and electricity, closing the loop on organic waste.
IoT Monitoring
We deploy real-time sensors across our network to monitor waste levels and environmental parameters, optimizing collection routes and reducing emissions.
